Artist, collaborator, and designer Michelle Vorce found her way to PDX via Alabama where she grew up as a first-generation Brazilian-American immigrant. Since a young age, art has been an intuitive mode of expression to nourish the mind-body connection.
Art has been a healer for her and the mixed feelings that she’s felt along the way. After working behind a computer in the everyday as a graphic designer, feelings of frustration led her to create Eclecto.
Eclecto is an art/design studio that specializes in working through the hand to create memorable, emotive objects and experiences with soul. We believe in the power of slow design in todays accelerating and often times tumultuous technological age.
Eclecto offers hand-crafted art pieces that transform the mundane and reflects the superpower of human touch. No piece is “perfect”. We include the symmetry and automation of a machine in areas, but prioritize the very human and embrace organic and impromptu forms to curate each distinguishing piece.
Eclecto values creativity, human connection, collaboration and the environment we inhabit together. Production methods aim to redirect materials from the waste stream whenever possible.
